Live demonstration of landmark-based train localisation and sensor-based environmental sensing on a Hamburg commuter train vehicle. This enables the train to sense its surroundings and to locate itself precisely and continuously in real time by comparing its location with a digital map. As a result, trains can drive more closely behind each other, leading to significantly increased capacity.
